National Farm Life, a Texas corporation specilizing in life insurance needed a more reliable method of accessing the internet and providing services for its external clients and employees. By utilizing a T1 to the internet this provided a product from their service provider with a service level agreement (SLA) for maximum uptime. Although this solved the problem of downtime bandwidth of this level became increasingly expensive. As bonding multiple T1's doubled their monthly cost per T1 and would add additional hardware expenses. IP Convergence recommended a link balancing device and add a simple cost effective service such as DSL, FIOS, cable or wireless. This would increase their bandwidth without adding additonal expensive service. These services have no SLA and it allowed National Farm Life to add these services for $30 - $50 dollars a month. National Farm Life selected Barracuda Networks Link Balancer to provide the increase bonding of cheaper internet access products.
